Important Message Do-over

I first published the following post three years ago. During 2016 my website was invaded from outside offenders possibly seeking to confuse and frustrate those who have followed the website. Not being a “techy,” it took me awhile to find answers for relief. In surveying the “damage” I found this particular article which had been hacked with several messages and diversions. It really seemed to me that the person doing the “editing” did not like the message of this article and chose to divert the basic message with some strategic perverse items that targeted specific points in the article. Very Interesting! It really seemed as if their action “proved” the point made in the article—that there is a lot of chaos on the rise in the world. In my prayer time lately, I “hear” (the gentle impression of the Holy Spirit speaking to my spirit and confirmed in His Word) the Lord saying “I Am Coming Soon!” (Rev. 22:7, 12)   I want to be found faithful to face Him when that day arrives.  So, I am continuing to share the truth whenever I get a chance. This article still holds true and becomes more evident each day.  Read it and see if you agree.

Does this world seem to be “going to hell in a hand basket” at an increasingly rapid pace day by day? Do you get the sense that we are all waiting for “something” to happen?   If it seems that way to you, like others, you may be searching for some solid truthful answers to steady your own daily navigation of life. You may be looking for a solid rock or an anchor. The Holy Scriptures offer such an anchor, having proven their validity time and time again despite years of assault that have attempted to disprove them. Check out this link to read research that validates the previous statement:

I believe in the authority of the scripture and the fact that the true author (God) inspired what was written down over the centuries of recording.  Since I believe God knows a heck of a lot more than I do, I have chosen to answer the following questions with the answers given in the Bible. The answers are fairly straightforward and simple to understand without further elaboration.  If you need insight, please take time to pray and ask God to teach you—there are places in the scripture that He expresses the fact of His ability to teach and how He does that.  See if these answers are helpful for some of the questions that may be on your mind.

One Disaster After Another?

Have you seen the news lately?  How many disasters can you recall over the past six months?

You may recall some of the natural disasters such as historic floods in various areas, or wildfires from drought; or maybe, you will think about the civil and political unrest leading to violent acts of murder, some involving massive numbers; or, you may think of some recent economic downfall or looming disaster; or, possibly, you will see that the world is on the verge of war in several regions. I have no doubt that you will be able to think about at least one or two disasters over this period. The reality is that, if we truly admit it to ourselves, we recognize that many are living on the precipice of imminent disaster.

Is it possible that an all-knowing and loving God may be using the increasing awareness of disasters to attempt to avert a final disaster of eternal separation from Him ?

His word (the Bible) records historically what His people (those who followed His word) understood when disasters beset them.

This entire disaster happened to us, exactly as it was written in Moses’ Teachings. Lord, our God, we never tried to gain your favor by turning from our wrongs and dedicating ourselves to your truth. So, you were prepared to bring this disaster on us. Lord, our God, you are righteous in everything you do. But we never listened to you.(Daniel 9:13-14 GW)

When disaster strikes, one of the first questions many people often voice is “Where was God?”

The question itself bears some unspoken innate understanding that God exists and is powerful, able to prevent evil, loving (even if our understanding of love is limited), and protective. It is a curious thing that this question is most often asked by those who doubt God’s existence, using their own logic about what should and should not happen as proof for that conclusion. However, since disasters seem to be on the rise, both in number and dimension increasing the chances that each of us may encounter one, I would like to consider some of the insights given from Daniel as he prayed toward the end of his life on earth.  This was the same Daniel who had faced the lions in the pit appointed by King Nebuchadnezzar of Ancient Babylon in the sixth century BCE.

For a little background to this insight, Daniel, now an old man, had lived a captive life away from his homeland (Israel) under the rule of four different kings in Babylon and Media-Persia.  He wrote the above text while praying to Yaweh as was his usual habit  Perhaps, since he refers to the teachings of Moses, Daniel recalled words such as the following:

Then all the other nations in the world will ask, “why has the Lord done this to their land? Why is he so angry?” The answer will be, “Because they abandoned the promise of the Lord God of their ancestors. He made this promise to them after he brought them out of Egypt. They worshiped other gods and bowed down to them. These were gods they never heard of, gods the Lord didn’t permit them to have. So the Lord became angry with this land and brought on it all the curses described in this book. In his fierce anger and fury, the Lord uprooted these people from their land and deported them to another country, where they still are today.” Deuteronomy 29:24-28

If you read about Daniel, you will find that the reason he had been thrown to the lions was because he chose to continue to believe God and practice devoted prayer despite orders from the king that outlawed such actions. When God saved him from the mouths of the hungry lions, the king publicly confessed that Daniel’s God was truly One God to acknowledge.  Daniel continued to distinguish himself as a faithful follower of Yahweh over the decades of his captivity.

Daniel had been a very young man when Jeremiah, the prophet, had warned of coming disaster against the nation. Perhaps, he recalled some of the words of this prophet:

I solemnly warned your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, and the warning still applies to you today. I solemnly warned them to obey me. But they didn’t obey me or pay attention to me. They followed their own stubborn, evil ways. So I punished them, because they did not keep all the terms of the promise, the terms that I commanded them to keep.”
Jeremiah 11:7-8

Close to a thousand years had transpired between the time of Moses and the time of Jeremiah—-but, it appears that God does not easily forget His promises. Daniel became aware of another prophecy spoken by Jeremiah as he studied the scroll writings of the prophet::

This is what the Lord says: When Babylon’s 70 years are over I will come to you. I will keep my promise to you and bring you back to this place.(Jeremiah 29:10 GW)

Daniel had spent over 67 years in captivity by the time he prayed the recorded words of his prayer to God.  His faith was expressed to the God who keeps His promises (even if the promise means bad consequences for disobedience).

So, what insights can I get from reading and listening to this portion of Daniel’s prayer?

  • There is a statement and a validation of God’s faithfulness and integrity.
  • God is serious about the covenants He makes with people. (I, as a non-Jewish person, am in covenant with the Jewish God, Yahweh, through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ—a blood covenant He (Jesus) said, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new promise (or, “covenant”) made with my blood.” (Luke 22:20 GW)

Additional facts from other scripture:

  • Over 2000 years have passed since this new covenant was revealed and many have been brought into true relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
  • Jesus physically left the earth with a promise to return. He gave signs that will be present on the earth right before the time of His return.—these signs are brightly flashing now. (read the Gospels, letters from Paul, and Revelation)

Zechariah was a prophet who was contemporary with Daniel. He began to speak toward the end of the time when Daniel’s life. God’s people who were captured by the Babylonians remained there for the 70 years Daniel found in scripture. Under King Cyrus of Media-Persia, they were being allowed to return to their homeland. This fulfilled exactly what God had told  his prophet, Isaiah, to speak. At this time, Zechariah spoke another prophetic word to the people:

Tell the people, ‘This is what the Lord of Armies says: Return to me, declares the Lord of Armies, and I will return to you, says the Lord of Armies.’ Don’t be like your ancestors, who heard the earlier prophets preach to them, ‘This is what the Lord of Armies says: Turn from your evil ways and your evil deeds.’ But they didn’t listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. Your ancestors—where are they now? And the prophets—are they still alive? Didn’t my warnings and my laws, which I’ve commanded my servants the prophets to preach, finally catch up with your ancestors? Then your ancestors turned away from their sins and said, ‘The Lord of Armies has done to us what he had planned to do. He has dealt with us as our ways and deeds deserve.’” (Zechariah 1:3-6 GW)

Zechariah reminds the people that God simply did what He said He would do. It is imperative to pay attention to His word.
1 Peter 1:24-25 quotes the prophet Isaiah 40:8

Jesus is due to return very soon according to signs and God’s prophetic words found in scripture. If God fulfilled His words to the nation in the days of previous prophets and generations, you can count on the fact that He will fulfill every other word He has spoken.

God is not like people. He tells no lies. He is not like humans. He doesn’t change his mind. When he says something, he does it. When he makes a promise, he keeps it. (Numbers 23:19 GW)

Are you ready for His return?  I hope you are.

If you cannot answer “Yes” to that question, please follow this link to find out how you can be ready.

Staying On Course

I am a somewhat artistic personality, willing to color outside the lines if the picture doesn’t look quite right. That trait can sometimes create an unplanned dilemma for me. An example of this was several years ago when I lived and taught school on the northeast side of San Antonio, Texas. My dad was scheduled to have an early morning heart bypass surgery at a hospital on the northwest side of San Antonio. My sister came from out of town, spent the night with me, and we arose early to be at the hospital to see Dad before he went in for surgery. Early morning traffic can become brutal leading up to rush hour, so I thought it best to take some backroads whenever traffic began to back up. My sister reminded me that roads can sometimes become tricky to navigate in San Antonio. There is a saying that the roads in San Antonio were laid out by a drunk monk on the back of a blind donkey. I knew that, but I felt that if we kept heading west while staying to the north side of the loop, we would be able to arrive at our destination more quickly and insure getting to see our dad. As we proceeded, I thought we were making fairly decent progress (maybe a little proud of myself for being such a trailblazer) until I began to be blinded by the rising sun in the front windshield of my car. It didn’t take me very long to remember which direction the sun rises in Texas. Needless to say, I was going diametrically opposed to the direction I intended, quite befuddled as to how that happened. Getting off-course was very unintentional, very subtle, and very quick.

This can be true in our relationship with God. History is replete with examples of such missteps, beginning with Adam and Eve and proceeding to such illustrious intenders as King Saul, King David, the apostles, Peter, Paul, and Judas, as well as the whole nation of Israel who mostly missed God’s best plans for them and had to suffer unpleasant consequences. Modern Christianity in the western world may be following the same path. Fortunately, God is still allowing repentance (a U-turn back to His way) at this time, but I will come back to that point in a bit.

Over the past few years and especially the past few months, God (how awesome He is) has been doing what Jesus said he would do during these ending days of this age. Namely, he is
fulfilling what Jesus prophesied as recorded in Matthew 10:26, Mark 4:22, and Luke 8:17:

“But don’t be afraid of those who threaten you. For the time is coming when everything that is covered will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all.” Luke 8:17 (NLT)

Cure for Narcissism

I am required to do ongoing continuing education to remain current in my license as a counselor. I have recently been researching the area of what is termed Narcissism by the psychological community.
I like to think of this pathological condition as total self-absorption, i.e.–thinking that the whole world revolves around the individual. Although, all of us are born self-absorbed and may remain in this state in varying degrees, the perpetual state of self-absorption becomes an issue because of the controls necessary to maintain this state in relationships. The self-absorbed person uses many devices, from charm, favors, manipulation, and carefully orchestrated propaganda to the more caustic tactics such as blaming the victim, setting up the victim, intimidation, playing mental games, and even destroying the victim if they do not comply. These are the true perpetrators in a very real sense. The most lethal Narcissists resort to criminal actions to control their “world” but they are usually good at avoiding accountability.

I became personally interested in this topic when I fully saw a lack of integrity and consistency within my own professing “Christian” family of origin system. Chaotic events, invalidation and disrespect of certain individuals in the family system in favor of “elites”, much triangulation with accompanying gossip, unrealistic demands of love and loyalty; and, a tremendous amount of never-ending pain and misunderstandings involved in such toxic relational behaviors. (I am not judging just reporting the facts knowing that I have been a part of this system.) I questioned the disconnection between a pattern of what was said and what was done. I also recognized this trend of very similar behaviors and communications on a much broader scale throughout much of our country and the leadership which represents our country. (I think anyone who is half-aware of media headlines, world events, and decisions being made by leadership sense this type of disconnection between words and actions tilting the whole world toward chaos that will not bode well for the general public in favor of a few elites.—a very interesting parallel to the relationship patterns of Narcissists and the “victims” of the self-absorbed.)

An interesting note about Narcissism in the clinical sense is the fact that there seems to be very little success in treatment of the “disease”. The chances of a truly narcissistic person changing are low to non-existent because of the fact that Narcissists do not see a problem with their behavior. The human wreckage all around them is simply part of the drama and entertainment for the pleasure of the Narcissist. That sounds like pure evil to me to enjoy someone else’s pain (yes, I believe it is called Sadism), but I will let you judge for yourself. The low recovery expectation presents a real dilemma for those who care about and for people unless they realize the reality of this condition and are eyes wide open to expectations in dealing with them in relationship. They can be really good con artists.

I believe Narcissism is on the rise. As “Selfies” becomes a way of life for a generation and accountability to former social structures is seriously broken down, self-absorption is certainly in vogue. Underneath Adult Narcissism is a much undeveloped willful child who substitutes self-love for real love. There is a biblical warning of this period in time with a description of malignant narcissism dominating the world cultures.

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God– having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. (2 Timothy 3:1-5 NIV)

Prophetic Warning!

Many of the Biblical prophets of old were instructed to act out the message that was being delivered to the intended target people. I have come to realize that some of my own life has been such. I was influencing others who witnessed by the message of my life as I simply followed God’s leading. In my prayer time recently, I was asking for insight into the times and how to navigate all the misinformation coming across the various media sites. These include “prophetic” voices as well as secular sources warning of great catastrophe ahead, while simultaneous voices insist upon a rosy outlook despite mounting evidence of disruption around the globe.

I do believe in receiving guidance and words of wisdom from the Lord, as I have received intuitive insight that was beyond my knowledge base at specific times in the past. (I can give scriptural support for this so I am not talking about weirdness here.) I also believe in using the natural abilities, as well as the learned abilities, that are endowed to me. Additionally, I believe it is important to take into account circumstances or available doors of opportunity in my current situation. All of these factors play a role in discerning what is happening around me and planning the course of action that I need to consider.

As I am thinking through these streams of information, I want to share some of these so that the paths to my concluding thoughts are clear. I will begin with special insights I have received over the past few years.

One insight that I was given was on the night my dad passed on into eternity. It was September 10, 2008. I distinctly “heard” a thought that interrupted my thinking at the time saying “This is the end of an era.” I was also given a visual image of “book-end” events in my own life that illustrated this message. It was a very strange, but profound thought to me. I assumed that it was a personal message for what I was experiencing with my dad. Since I had been at the hospital every day that week before, I had no idea what was happening on the world scene, and certainly was unaware of the financial implosions that were taking place in the stock market. I was just very sure that I had been given a special insight. Only later did I understand that I really had been given a special insight.

Another time, a few months later, I was standing on a balcony at an Inn where my husband and I led retreats. I had a few moments of quiet time to myself and I wanted to pray. I caught myself complaining about the wind which was whipping my face and causing me to feel fatigued. Again, a thought went through my head that was not my own saying, “the wind comes to blow away the things that are not good; once it has passed, you will see how it has cleaned out a lot of debris.” I have found that I sit up and pay attention when I hear something like that because it is so foreign to my normal thought processes. I was “complaining” about the wind, and felt a little rebuked by the thought.

The third situation occurred when my husband and I realized that we needed to relocate to be closer to our work site, but found difficulty locating a specific place suitable for us. We both came to a point of frustration over this (we were traveling 30 weeks out of the year), and, in desperation, asked the Lord in prayer, “where do you want us to look?” We both immediately heard the name of a small city which we had not considered at all in our search. Our desire had been to get an acre or so of land to accommodate our grown children’s visits and my husband wanted a garden. In short order, after our prayer and insight, my husband reported that he had been given additional “instruction” in scripture that he thought was pertinent which involved family members contacting us to “show” us which property we were to purchase. (This was not our usual way to make decisions, so we waited to see if something would happen) True to form (or maybe true to God’s way), but not exactly what we thought, family members who were oblivious to our prayers and communications did contact us “out of the blue” and we were led to property right in the city we were told.

While this event sounds dramatic, what unfolded next leads to the additional paths of information, circumstances and abilities, used to discern the current situation in the world around us.
The land we purchased so hopefully had an excellent location and seemed ideal for building and doing what we planned, although it was quite a bit larger than we wanted. Over the course of time, we hit “walls” (really big thick stone walls) as we tried to develop this land into a home place. Those walls led us to look for the “open doors” which led us to learn about and to build a sustainable residence (which was not our initial desire). Then, job circumstances changed suddenly and we had to move, yet again, to be closer to the work site. We left the “homestead” and moved into the metro area.

For the next two years, while trying to process the information we had obtained from our experiences in the “wilderness” and the special guidance that had led us there along with the interruption to move, we had the opportunity to become more educated about the world financial system and those who manipulate this system. We became more educated about global movements and machinations as we witnessed the steady decline in our American way of life. These indicated to us that our path was being directed in unexpected ways for our good, despite our ignorance.

The interim period allowed me time to expand my knowledge base. I pursued Jewish studies, learning about scripture and the world through a Jewish perspective. I, along with my husband, volunteered with a victim relief organization and assisted with two major disasters during this time, seeing how people attempt to survive in the aftermath of great devastation. I also learned long neglected homesteading skills, such as preserving jellies and jams, baking fermented grains, and even sewing a quilt or two. My husband and I also learned about better growing techniques for gardening and urban farming.

About a year ago, we were able to return to the homestead and purchase an additional conventional dwelling place. We have been in the process of putting into practice the newly learned techniques we have acquired. Our lifestyle is not at all as I pictured it would be even ten years ago. However, I am finding new strengths and enjoyments as time passes.

With all the above brief history of changes in our lives, I have come to the conclusion that we are indeed “here for such a time as this” as Mordecai said to Queen Esther in the book by her name. I am also convinced that God does indeed direct the steps of His children

We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. Proverbs 16:9 (NLT)

But, sometimes, it takes us awhile to understand the direction He is leading.

The LORD is the one who directs a person’s steps. How then can anyone understand his own way? Proverbs 20:24 (GW)

I want to summarize this article with the following conclusion. The steps I(we) have taken, both intentionally and “directed”, to increase our information in the previous 10 years indicate to us that we, as a nation and world are headed for great change in the near future. A great shaking is going to happen very soon that will leave many reeling from the events that will take place. I believe these events are being orchestrated in more ways than one, (men make their plans, but God directs the steps) Ultimately, for those who follow God this time is coming to bring repentance where needed, to refine our faith, and to purge evil in preparation for the return of The Lord, Jesus Christ (the One who died on the cross and rose from the dead in the Bible). I would encourage anyone who is reading to do all that you can to be in the center of God’s will for your life. If you do not know Him personally, it is time to become related (links to tell you how). Time is short to live at relative ease. If you put off the issue of getting to know God through Jesus Christ, you may not get another chance and that will be very sad for you forever!

On a practical level, I would encourage you to take steps to survive as long as possible without being dependent upon all the lovely comforts that modern society provides because modern society will fail at some point and that could be without warning. (Ask the people in Ukraine right now, or some who have suffered from modern disasters). Much information is available to help you to do that. I would do this immediately.

Finally, on a spiritual level, since we truly can trust a loving Father if we have placed our trust in Him and His Way, I would leave you with parts of Psalms 37 (GW), but I would encourage you to read all of it on your own. It really does help us to navigate when the times of trouble are upon us. You, like me, will need to depend upon God in ways you never dreamed of in the days ahead. I, for one, am praying for you, preparing for the worst, and hoping for the best!

Trust the LORD, and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful… (3)
Entrust your ways to the LORD. Trust him, and he will act [on your behalf]…(5)
Surrender yourself to the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Do not be preoccupied with [an evildoer] who succeeds in his way when he carries out his schemes. Let go of anger, and leave rage behind. Do not be preoccupied. It only leads to evil. Evildoers will be cut off [from their inheritance], but those who wait with hope for the LORD will inherit the land (7-9)
The little that the righteous person has is better than the wealth of many wicked people…(16)
Those who are blessed by him will inherit the land. Those who are cursed by him will be cut off
A person’s steps are directed by the LORD, and the LORD delights in his way/ When he falls, he will not be thrown down headfirst because the LORD holds on to his hand. I have been young, and now I am old, but I have never seen a righteous person abandoned or his descendants begging for food. (22-25)
The victory for righteous people comes from the LORD. He is their fortress in times of trouble.
The LORD helps them and rescues them. He rescues them from wicked people. He saves them because they have taken refuge in him. (39-40)

Sifting the Chaff to Hold On to the Truth

As I look at the collision of so many threatening events in the world, I am amazed at the response of those in media.  I see the reaction of alternative media to mainstream media, mostly diametrically opposed to one another, sometimes reporting completely different stories.    Among the alternative media is a group that is known as Christian media. Here, there are also two contrasting sides that I have observed.  One group of Christian leaders is characterized by its disconnectedness from any of the current events, leaving one to see Christianity as unrelated to the current world much as the agnostics taught in early church history.  The other group attempts to address the current events, many times with their

various interpretations of what these events mean. Reading and listening to the majority of the stories being presented by many in this group of Christian newsmen, one can begin to experience fear, confusion, and great distrust because of the many different voices and interpretations.   This reaction within myself has caused me to ask “why”   I am experiencing fear from Christians.  It has also caused me to seek God in prayer for insight and discernment in this time of increasing deception.  (more…)

Calm Before the Storm

I have not written for the blog in a while.  There are several factors explaining my absence.  I experienced information overload and needed time to focus completely on the Word of God.   Unending information from all media sources produced such a cacophony that it overwhelmed my senses like immersion therapy gone really wrong.  It reminds me of my times as a teacher in the classroom when every student had a question at the same time or as a parent when each of my very young children had a pressing need simultaneously.  The clamor for my attention was deafening.  The supply of one human to meet the needs of many was sometimes close to impossible in the moment.

The poet, William Wordsworth, wrote about my attitude in 1802 as he looked at the effects of the Industrial Revolution upon the people, although he was pantheistic in his solutions.

The world is too much with us; late and soon,

Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;

Little we see in Nature that is ours;

We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!

I have to agree with his observation.  The effect of listening to the voices and movers and shakers in our world will take our hearts away quickly leaving us confused and empty.  So, I have been practicing the wisdom found in Ecclesiastes 5:2

Don’t be in a hurry to talk. Don’t be eager to speak in the presence of God. Since God is in heaven and you are on earth, limit the number of your words.

Thus, I have not been producing a lot of words, but being quiet.

Listening is something I can do well if I desire to do so.  The issue I have is tuning out noise in order to distill the golden nuggets of truth worth embracing with all my heart.  (more…)

Hope for the Season

True judgment is coming——foreshadows abound

World chaos, wars, famine, the shaking of ground

Perversions, diversions, subversions and more

Which version you choose depends on your Core

Knowledge increases as does the pursuit

Run faster and faster, tune out, try to mute

No time for thanksgiving—stores open til late

Titillate senses, —– new tech to relate.

The season’s upon us and so we prepare

Take care to make memories with those whom we share

These temporal pastime traditions we hold

So dear to our hearts, the equal of gold.

Depression that follows these days of “high” joy

Prove wind-catching goals in the end will destroy

The voice in the wilderness speaks still today

Turn; change your hearts. He is near.  Make the Way

He told who He is at the Feast of the Light

Observed by our Savior, that long winter night

Rejected and threatened with stoning by some

Who refused to believe Him, the Father’s own Son

Jesus withdrew to the wilderness place

Where John baptized people and led them to Grace

There people came, said what John spoke was true

Believing in Jesus for life that’s brand new.

His cross was ahead with that Spring would appear

The Light of the World was too bright to stay here.

And, so He withdrew to His kingdom on high

To wait for the Day that soon will draw nigh.

He’s coming again —-the foreshadows expand

His victory’s sure with His righteous right hand

The world will grow dark as birth pains increase

False lights will appear with a promise of peace

Systems will fail and the earth will convulse

As evil attempts Christ’s return to repulse

The Word became flesh and dwelt among man

Just as the prophets recorded the plan

The Word is still true and will do what’s foretold

Our faith when refined will come forth as gold.

The birth of the Child is historical fact

But, soon-reigning King will be the next act.

The Light of the World is coming again

Be sure that you’re ready to recognize Him!

Time flies and changes occur rapidly these days.  Biblical Truth is eternal and does not change.  As 2014 comes to a close and the next year is upon us, I pray that you will become aware of the uncertainty of all that this world offers and open your eyes to the sure foundation established by Jesus Christ.  If you do not know Him, take time to see if He has something to offer to you.  He did 2000 years ago and He does today.

Check out information on how to relate.    I pray you and yours will enjoy true peace this season.

Words are powerful

My wife and I have struggled to overcome a block to our communication. I tend to close down and become silent while she feels the need to fill the silence with many words trying to stimulate me to talk. Both of us have had to come to a more balanced approach and consider exactly what we want to communicate with one another. The Bible has a lot to say about the words we speak because it is an indication of what is going on within our hearts. From God’s point of view, our words are of utmost importance in our daily life. Weighty Words

My daughter-in-law recently posted a comment on her social media page about how news reporters “report” a crisis. The disconnectedness between reality of events and what is being said is so obvious that it becomes a point of ridicule to anyone with an ounce of discernment. I would consider these news reports shallow in truth and lightweight in impact for the good. In this day, these types of communication serve only to distract and confuse much like the glitz and glimmer of politics, theater, and sports events. Sadly, I was once mesmerized by these distractions without considering the effect in my own life. While I was entertaining and playing host to gibberish, the world has steadily moved toward a full-bloom chaotic mess. With the realization of the power of words to build up or tear down, I am re-running a previous post that confronts and reveals solutions for a return to substance. Read and be fed by the robust weight of truth. (more…)
